What membership gets you
- Entry to all eight screenings in the season.
- The programme a fortnight before it's public, and a vote on the December members' choice.
- Borrowing rights on the notes archive.
- A say in the spring programme, exercised vigorously by about fifteen people.
What it doesn't
A reserved seat. Sixty chairs, first come first seated, and on a popular night the back row goes first because of the flat floor.
Joining
Pay at the door or email club@valhallareels.com and we'll sort it out. There's no form, no card, and no online system — a spreadsheet and a cash tin have covered us for ten years.
Where the money goes
| Screening licences | the largest single cost by a distance |
| Hall hire | £45 a night |
| Projector fund | a slow save towards replacing the bulb and eventually the unit |
| Anyone's pocket | nothing. Nobody is paid |
We run a small surplus most seasons and it goes into the projector fund. The accounts are on a sheet pinned up at the venue and anyone can read them.
